Good news for fans of Miss Scarlet! PBS has renewed the show for Season 6. This announcement follows a romantic finale for Season 5, which aired on February 16. In that finale, Eliza Scarlet (played by Kate Phillips) and Alexander Blake (Tom Durant-Pritchard) shared a sweet moment after a season filled with flirting. However, not all the news is good; Evan McCabe, who plays Oliver Fitzroy, will not be returning for the new season. Felix Scott, who portrays Nash, is also not confirmed to return, despite being mentioned in the Season 6 description.
PBS is excited about the upcoming season and shared that filming will start this month. Fans can look forward to seeing Phillips and Durant-Pritchard back in their roles, along with some new faces joining the cast.
What can we expect in Season 6?
At the end of Season 5, DI Blake’s feelings for Eliza developed significantly. Their relationship will continue to grow in Season 6, but maintaining balance between work and their personal lives will be a challenge. Meanwhile, Nash will still make his mark, even from Australia.
Here’s a little sneak peek: As Eliza and Blake’s relationship develops, they find that teamwork can be more complicated than they thought. Additionally, Ivy and Potts navigate the ups and downs of newlywed life. There’s a new detective at Scotland Yard and Moses Valentine returns just when Eliza and her team need him the most.
Patty Lenahan Ishimoto, the show’s Executive Producer, expressed excitement for the new season, thanking PBS and UKTV for their support in continuing Eliza Scarlet’s journey.
Who’s coming back for Season 6?
Returning cast members include Kate Phillips, Tom Durant-Pritchard, Cathy Belton as Ivy, Paul Bazely as Clarence, Simon Ludders as Mr. Potts, Tim Chipping as Detective Phelps, and Ansu Kabia as Moses. New characters will also join the mix. Look out for Sam Buchanan as Detective George Willows and Grace Hogg-Robinson as Isabel Summers.
As for Evan McCabe, his absence is confirmed due to a role with the Royal Shakespeare Company’s Hamlet.
Phillips will also appear in another PBS drama, Wolf Hall Season 2, which premieres on March 23.
When will Season 6 premiere?
There’s no official premiere date yet, but filming starts this month in Belgrade, Serbia. More details will be shared soon.
