A Texas court recently awarded over $2.8 million in damages against Theodore Knox, a former college teammate of Kansas City Chiefs receiver Rashee Rice. This ruling stems from a street racing accident in Dallas on March 30, 2024, where both Knox and Rice lost control of their vehicles.
Judge Kim Bailey Phipps found Knox “grossly negligent” in the case, which didn’t require him to be present for the hearing. His court records show no legal representation, and attempts to contact him have gone unanswered.

In a follow-up to the incident, Rice took responsibility and turned himself in after an arrest warrant was issued. He received a 30-day jail sentence and five years of probation. Knox followed a similar legal path, also getting 30 days in jail and five years of probation.
