Microsoft shared that many users are recovering from an outage affecting Outlook and other services.
Microsoft 365 Status, the account that tracks service issues, posted on X, saying, “We’re looking into a problem where users can’t access Outlook and related features.” More info was provided in a post.
Reports of issues soared after 3:30 p.m. ET. Over 37,000 users had trouble with Outlook, while around 24,000 faced problems with Microsoft 365 services, according to Downdetector. About 150 users also reported issues with Teams.
The outages affected areas like New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles the most, based on the reports.
Many took to X to express frustration about not being able to access their Outlook emails, raising fears of a larger issue with Microsoft.
On their service health page, Microsoft revealed they found a possible cause for the outages and had reverted the “impacting service update.” They are now closely monitoring the services to ensure stability and fix any further issues with Microsoft 365.
In their status update on X, Microsoft promised, “We’ll keep watching until we resolve everything for all services.”
The company has yet to reply to CNBC’s request for further comments.
