Mamta Kulkarni recently performed a special ritual called ‘pind daan’ in Prayagraj. She rose to fame in the 1990s with popular films like *Karan Arjun* and *Baazi*.
In a recent conversation, Mamta expressed her feelings about returning to the film industry. She stated, “I can’t even imagine doing films again. It is absolutely impossible for me now.” She explained her new spiritual journey, saying becoming the Mahamandaleshwar of the Kinnar Akhada feels like winning an “Olympic medal.” This honor comes after over 20 years of spiritual practice. Mamta highlighted that the Kinnar Akhada symbolizes freedom and acceptance.
Reflecting on her past, Mamta shared memories from her time in Bollywood. She worked alongside some of the biggest stars, including Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, and Aamir Khan. While she enjoyed her time in the industry, she recognizes the importance of spirituality, saying, “You need everything in life, including entertainment. But spirituality is something you achieve through luck.” She mentioned that individuals, like the historical Buddha, often seek a deeper purpose after exploring life’s many paths.
During the ‘pind daan’ ceremony at Sangham Ghat, Mamta emphasized that her journey into spirituality was guided by divine orders. She felt chosen for this role by her spiritual leaders. Previously, she took a step back from acting in the early 2000s and moved abroad, distancing herself from the spotlight.
Today, Mamta seems firmly committed to her spiritual path, leaving her Bollywood days behind, but fondly remembering her influential years in the industry.
