Marilyn Manson’s U.K. Tour Kickoff Canceled: Protests Erupt from Officials and Fans Alike

Marilyn Manson’s upcoming concert in Brighton, set for October, has been canceled. The Brighton Centre pulled the plug after an online protest and a push from local MP Siân Berry.

The show was part of his "One Assassination Under God Tour." Ticketmaster has informed buyers of the cancellation and will process refunds.

Manson, whose real name is Brian Warner, has faced serious allegations from multiple women, including actress Evan Rachel Wood and model Esmé Bianco. Although he denies the claims, a 2021 Rolling Stone article highlighted that more than a dozen women came forward with accusations. In January, prosecutors in Los Angeles dropped the case against him, citing that the allegations were either too old or couldn’t be proven.

A campaign called No Stage for Abusers urged the venue and the Brighton and Hove city council to cancel Manson’s performance. Berry wrote a letter to the council, stressing the concerns of survivors and community organizations about his booking. She emphasized that the council has a duty to protect residents from potential harm and discrimination.

This cancellation isn’t just isolated. Following Berry’s initiative, the Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole (BCP) Council leader, Millie Earl, also called for the cancellation of Manson’s October show in Bournemouth. She noted that his appearance didn’t match their values, especially as they work on initiatives like the White Ribbon accreditation, which promotes healthy behaviors among men and boys.
