Marshall’s Track Stars Shine at Sun Belt Championships
Last week, three standout athletes from Marshall University made waves at the Sun Belt Conference Outdoor Championships, earning All-Conference honors.
Freshman Destiny Berryman claimed Second Team All-Conference after taking second in the 1500-meter race. Junior Hannah Wyler and sophomore Taylor Spencer were recognized on the Third Team for their impressive finishes in the same event and the Women’s Steeplechase, respectively.
Director of Track & Field Keith Roberts praised their dedication. "Destiny, Hannah, and Taylor have been focused all year. Their growth has been incredible," he said. He emphasized that their hard work paid off and expressed pride in their accomplishments.
These athletes have been training hard since the fall, participating in both Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field as well as Cross Country. Head Cross Country Coach Caleb Bowen noted their commitment to practice. "They give their all every day. That effort showed during the championships. I’m excited to see what the future holds for them," he remarked.

In addition to the individual honors at Marshall, the Sun Belt Conference recognized top performers from across schools:
- Men’s Track Performer of the Year: Jacob Pyeatt, Arkansas State
- Women’s Track Performer of the Year: Abigail Parra, Texas State
These accolades highlight the competitive spirit and talent across the conference.
