Massive Game Purge: Over 100 Titles Disappearing from the PlayStation Store – What You Need to Know!

In a surprising move, the Japanese PlayStation Store is set to remove 106 PS4 and PS Vita games on September 30, 2025. This delisting affects users on the PS5 and PS5 Pro too, as these older titles are still playable on newer systems. While many gamers might not recognize the games being removed, it’s unusual to see such a large number drop at once.

The decision comes from Entergram, the publisher behind these titles. In a statement, they expressed their regret, urging customers to purchase any desired games before they vanish. “We sincerely apologize to our customers,” they said, adding that support for existing users will continue, and a sale might take place before the games are removed.

Interestingly, none of the games slated for delisting have online components, making this removal feasible. However, fans should note that about 34 games will return under different publishers later. Currently, only Japanese PSN users can access these titles. Players in North America and Europe can still buy them through a Japanese account, but they won’t appear on local stores.

As for why this mass delisting is happening, Entergram and Sony have yet to provide clarity. This lack of communication leaves users puzzled and speculating about future implications for game availability on these platforms.

In broader context, the gaming industry has seen similar trends before. Historically, companies have occasionally removed games for reasons ranging from licensing issues to shifting market strategies. Consumers are often left with mixed feelings about these sudden changes, reflecting both nostalgia for beloved titles and concern over access to digital content.

As we await further news from Entergram or Sony, gamers may want to explore their collections and consider grabbing any interesting titles before they disappear.
