Matthew McConaughey is basically a Texas icon! Everyone knows he has a love for his home state, and it turns out, he’s also a big fan of good food.
In an episode of “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives,” McConaughey teamed up with Guy Fieri in Georgetown, Texas, to check out the Monument Cafe. There, he tasted the cafe’s famous Tex-Mex dish, the King Ranch Chicken Casserole. This delicious casserole has layers of tortillas, chicken, cheese, and a creamy sauce made with soups, vegetables, and spices.
Not everyone in Texas may know about this dish, but it’s definitely a favorite. I’ll admit, I hadn’t heard of it until now! But there are always more Texan creations to discover, like Parisa, which is unique but intriguing. You can look that up if you’re curious!
McConaughey’s reaction to the King Ranch Casserole showed his love for this dish. While he wasn’t known as a foodie before, his recipes are gaining attention. Last year, his tuna salad recipe went viral, and many people have tried to replicate it, all agreeing he’s a tuna salad pro!
