Max Verstappen Dominates Miami GP Qualifying to Secure Pole Position!

In Q2, the excitement kicked off with Verstappen leading the way. He quickly set a time of 1m 26.643s on new soft tires. However, it was Piastri who stole the spotlight, posting a stunning 1m 26.269s. This put him at the top, two-tenths faster than his teammate Norris, with Antonelli close behind in third.

As the session progressed, Russell found himself in a surprising position near the bottom, struggling for grip. Other drivers at risk included Ocon, Doohan, Lawson, and Hadjar, who abandoned his lap attempt. With the clock ticking, drivers started pushing hard for their final laps.

While Piastri stayed in the pits, Ocon made a strong push to reach Q3. Despite a significant slip, he managed to climb to P9, which pushed Hamilton into the elimination zone. Russell improved his standing to P3, but Hadjar, Bortoleto, Doohan, and Lawson couldn’t find the speed they needed to advance, leaving them out of Q2.

The biggest surprise was Hamilton, who could not improve his time and ended up in P12. This was a stark contrast to his earlier strong performance in the Sprint, where he finished P3.
