College life can be hectic. With classes, homework, meetings, and jobs, students have a lot to juggle. Staying organized is key, and many turn to calendars, whether digital or on paper.

At UC Davis, tech-savvy students are finding that calendar and reminder apps help them keep track of their busy schedules. For example, Alex Monroy, who studies aerospace science and engineering, relies on Google Calendar.

“I use it all the time for everything from scheduling classes and clubs to planning study sessions and gym time,” he shares.

Alex prefers Google Calendar because it’s simple and efficient. “Other apps like Notion and Outlook can be more complicated. Google Calendar is straightforward, and it saves me time,” he explains.

While Google Calendar is popular, some students try different options. Mark Copple, a managerial economics major, uses Timepage by Moleskine. “It’s high quality, and I trust the brand,” he says.

For many students, these calendar apps are vital for managing their responsibilities. Mark adds, “I use it daily to keep track of work meetings and school assignments.”

Despite the rise of tech, some still prefer traditional methods. Trinity Salus, an animal science major, enjoys handwritten notes. “I have a note page on my iPad where I list tasks for the week,” she explains. “I check things off as I complete them.”

Many calendar users love features like recurring events and color coding. Alex enjoys color coding tasks in Google Calendar. “It helps me see everything at a glance,” he notes. He also values the reminder feature, which lets him choose how early he wants to be notified.

Trinity also uses colors to prioritize her tasks. “Red means it’s urgent, and black is for things I can check off later,” she says.

Those who switched to digital calendars often notice a positive change. Alex feels more relaxed and productive. “Google Calendar helps me manage my time better and remember important tasks,” he says.

No matter how you prefer to organize your schedule—be it on paper or through an app—keeping track of tasks can make life smoother and less stressful.
