Meet a Future Lifesaver: Inside the Journey of a University of New Haven Paramedicine Student

Hey everyone! Today’s blog is a bit different. Instead of sharing my usual thoughts, I’m chatting with my boyfriend about his journey in paramedicine. He’s been an EMT for over five years and is now a Paramedic. And yes, he has a serious sweet tooth for peanut butter M&Ms!

He loves his dogs, Apollo and Athena, and spends his free time hiking or gaming. So, let’s dive into our conversation!

Question 1: Why did you choose the University of New Haven?

He paused and said, “It was the only college I applied to. The University of New Haven has a B.S. in Paramedicine, it’s close to home, and the campus is beautiful.”

I laughed, “Only one school? That’s classic you!”

With a grin, he replied, “Hey, it worked out!”

Question 2: What’s it like living with Bea?

He chuckled, “If you put a normal person and Bea in the same room, they’d probably freak out!”

I pretended to gasp, “I’m not that bad!”

He shot back, “You do have colonoscopy photos on the wall!”

Fair point!

Question 3: Favorite and least favorite classes?

“Honestly?” he asked. “I love Bioethics with Michael French. But I can’t stand physics. Sorry, physics department!”

I can’t judge; math is not my strong suit!

Question 4: What’s your go-to study meal?

“Peanut butter M&Ms, family size!” he exclaimed. “If I can’t find those, it’s PB&J or a Red Bull.”

How does he stay so fit? Seriously, men and their weird metabolisms!

Question 5: What are your plans after graduation?

“I want to do what makes me happy,” he started. “When you focus on happiness instead of comparing yourself to others, opportunities come your way.”

He plans to apply to Physician Assistant school. This thoughtful approach is what sets him apart.

I hope you enjoyed this change of pace! Maybe I’ll do another one of these in the future, but he’s not a fan of the spotlight.

With peace and plenty of peanut butter,
Bea
