Meet Andrea Zaric: Mercyhurst Transfer Elevates University of North Dakota Hawks’ Roster

University of North Dakota Volleyball Welcomes Andrea Zaric

The University of North Dakota volleyball team has exciting news. They’ve added Andrea Zaric, a talented outside hitter, to their roster. Zaric comes from Mercyhurst, where she played for four seasons and made a significant impact.

In her career, she recorded 639 kills, 458 digs, 81 blocks, 64 aces, and 24 assists. Last season, in 2025, she had a strong performance with 237 kills and contributed in multiple areas, boasting 149 digs and 37 blocks.

Zaric’s standout moments include a season-high of 16 kills against Farleigh Dickinson and two double-doubles against LIU and New Haven. She earned the NEC Prime Performer title twice last season, showcasing her skills on the court.

Notably, Zaric helped Mercyhurst improve their win total by seven, leading them to 12 victories in 2025. Her experience in the Northeast Conference aligns well with Coach David Nguyen, who previously coached in that same league.

Zaric joins fellow Canadians Lauren Perugini and Olivia Edlund at UND, making the team even stronger.

As volleyball continues to grow, having players like Zaric can inspire young athletes everywhere. According to the NCAA, participation in women’s volleyball has been steadily increasing, reflecting a growing interest in the sport.
