Meet Dannette Swift: The New Interim Athletic Director Transforming University of Providence Athletics

The University of Providence has named Dannette Swift as the interim athletic director for the 2025-26 school year. This change is effective immediately. Swift takes over the position from Kylie Carranza, who has been managing both the athletic director role and her duties as chief of staff.

The university will continue with the interim structure throughout this academic year and plans to review this position after the spring 2026 semester. Swift has received strong support from the athletic staff, thanks to her experience as the assistant athletic director for external operations and director of athletic advancement over the past year and a half.

Before joining the University of Providence, Swift spent a decade with Coaching Charities. There, she helped professional athletes and their charitable organizations boost visibility and fundraising efforts. She also worked at Benefis Health System, focusing on donor engagement and marketing strategies.

Her collegiate experience comes from five years with the UNLV Rebels, where she developed game-day promotions and fan engagement plans. Additionally, she spent five years as the head coach for the UNLV women’s lacrosse team, emphasizing both competitive success and student-athlete development. Swift herself played lacrosse at UNLV while earning her degree in marketing and a master’s certificate in new venture management.

Dr. Caroline Goulet, the interim president and provost of the University of Providence, praised Swift, saying, “Her ability to connect communities and advance strategic goals will greatly benefit our student-athletes.” Swift shared her excitement about stepping into this role and is eager to build on the university’s momentum while fostering stronger connections within the community.
