Baxter Health is excited to introduce Dr. Chesney Skaggs to our team. As an internist, she joins the First In-Service Hospitalists group at Baxter Health.
Dr. Skaggs hails from Arkansas. She recently wrapped up her Internal Medicine Residency at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) Northwest in Fayetteville. There, she gained valuable experience in both acute and chronic care for patients in hospital settings. She earned her Medical degree at UAMS in 2022 after getting a Bachelor’s in Biology from the University of the Ozarks.
“We’re thrilled to have Dr. Skaggs onboard,” said Brian Barnett, VP of Physician Enterprise/Business Development. “Her skills and dedication will make a real difference for our patients and their families.”
But Dr. Skaggs isn’t just about medicine. She loves kayaking and hiking, and she enjoys spending quality time with her family and dogs.
Her arrival is timely. According to a recent study by the American College of Physicians, there’s a growing demand for skilled internists in the U.S. This increase is mainly due to the aging population and rising chronic health conditions. With new healthcare challenges, Dr. Skaggs’s expertise will be invaluable at Baxter Health.
We’re looking forward to the positive impact Dr. Skaggs will have in our community. Her commitment to high-quality, compassionate care aligns perfectly with our mission at Baxter Health.
