Sepp Straka’s rise in golf shows how teamwork is key, but this often gets overlooked. After turning pro in 2016, Sepp had a tough start, winning just one event in six years. However, everything changed when he switched caddies in 2023. Since then, his performance skyrocketed, rising to 20th in the Official World Golf Ranking and second in the FedExCup standings.

So, who is Sepp Straka’s new caddie? Let’s learn more about Duane Bock.
Meet Duane Bock, Sepp Straka’s Caddie
Sepp Straka, now 31, struggled for years while working with his previous caddie, John Davenport. They teamed up for about nine years, but the results just weren’t coming. When fellow golfer Kevin Kisner took a break, Duane Bock became available, and Sepp made a pivotal decision to partner with him. This new collaboration turned out to be a game-changer.
Since joining forces, Sepp and Duane notched a victory at the 2023 John Deere Classic and finished tied for second at the Open Championship. Their strong chemistry clearly pays off. Recently, they also won the American Express and led the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am after the second round.
The Relationship Dynamics
Sepp Straka credits his newfound success to Duane Bock’s experience and support. He shared in an interview, “I’ve known Duey for a while now since he caddied for a friend of mine, Kis. It’s worked out great. I love Duey. He’s a great caddie, and I’m really happy to have him on the bag.”
Duane Bock brings over 17 years of caddying experience and has worked with many notable players, earning respect in the golf community. Three-time PGA winner Kevin Kisner praised him, saying, “He’s very professional and still likes to have fun. No matter my score, he stays calm and focused on the next shot.”
Duane Bock’s Journey in Golf
Duane’s love for golf started early. His father introduced him to the game when he was just four years old. By 16, he bought his first set of clubs using money earned as a caddie at Maidstone Club. His passion grew, inspired by his brothers who played college golf. He fondly recalls, “Maidstone allowed the employees to play and practice after five o’clock, and that’s where I fell in love with the game.”
Though he aspired to be a professional golfer, life had other plans. After nearly a decade on the Canadian Tour, he realized he needed to shift gears when his daughter was born in 2002. This led him to caddying, where he found his true calling. In 2009, he began working with Kevin Kisner, and their partnership lasted 14 years, marked by significant successes.
Now, with Sepp Straka, Duane Bock continues to make an impact. Their partnership shows how the right caddie can transform a golfer’s performance. Fans are eager to see if this duo can scale even greater heights in the 2025 season!
