Toby Pentecost has been named the 2024 Store Manager of the Year for Food Lion’s Central Division.
This award recognizes his outstanding leadership and dedication to the Scottsville community. Toby started his journey with Food Lion in November 1999, and now he leads a team of nearly 80 associates committed to serving local customers.
“Building that bond with the community is essential. We want them to know they can count on us,” Toby remarked.
His passion for community service shines through. He and his team actively support local events and partner with organizations to help those in need. Toby believes in creating a friendly environment, where everyone feels included and motivated.
“Toby represents our brand with humor and commitment. He fosters an atmosphere where everyone shares a common vision and encourages personal and professional growth,” said Scott Libbey, Vice President of Food Lion’s Central Division.
Selected from over 1,100 managers, Toby joins five other honorees this year. This recognition honors managers who embody Food Lion’s core values and its ‘Count on me’ culture.
Toby expressed his surprise at receiving such an honor, saying, “I never thought I would achieve this. It always seemed like something that happened to someone else.”
As a tribute to his commitment to the Scottsville area, Food Lion donated the equivalent of 5,000 meals to the Scottsville Church of Christ in his name. This generous act highlights the company’s ongoing effort to fight food insecurity.
