Meet the Ground Jury for the 2025 World Young Horse Championships: What It Means for Competitors and Fans

The FEI has named the ground jury for the 2025 World Championships for young dressage horses. This exciting event will take place from August 5 to 10, 2025, at the Hanoverian headquarters in Verden, Germany.

Verden has won the chance to host the championships for three years, from 2025 to 2027. This follows their successful hosting of the 2021 event, which was held after the 2020 championship was canceled due to COVID-19. Verden first hosted a pilot project for young dressage horses in 1998, making it a key location for the event. The inaugural championship was in Arnheim in 1999, and Verden took over hosting in 2001, holding it until 2016. After that, Ermelo hosted the event from 2016 to 2019 and will continue from 2022 to 2024.

The ground jury selected for the 2025 event includes:

  • Patricia Wolters (Netherlands) – president for 5-year-olds
  • Kurt Christensen (Denmark) – president for 6-year-olds
  • Henning Lehrmann (Germany) – president for 7-year-olds
  • Sven Rothenberger (Netherlands) – commentating judge
  • Knut Danzberg (Germany) – commentating judge
  • Maria Colliander (Finland) – commentating judge
  • Lars Andersson (Sweden)
  • Carlos Lopes (Portugal)
  • Juan Carlos Campos Escribano (Spain)
  • Agnieszka Majewska (Poland)
  • Thomas Lang (Austria)
  • Clive Halsall (Great Britain)
  • Susie Hoevenaars (Australia)

Freddy Leyman from Belgium will serve as the Foreign Technical Delegate, and Jacques Van Daele will be the chief steward.
