Governor Mike Braun of Indiana has a bold plan. He wants to make the state’s environmental rules easier for businesses. To help with this, he’s chosen Clint Woods to lead the Indiana Department of Environmental Management.
Woods has a significant background in environmental policy. He previously worked at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) during President Trump’s first term. His time there was notable for efforts to relax air pollution regulations, which sparked some controversy. After leaving the EPA, he took a position at Ohio State University but faced backlash from students and faculty over his past role. This led him to resign a few months later.
In addition to Woods, Governor Braun appointed Jon Ford to oversee the Indiana Office of Energy Development. Ford brings experience from his time as a state senator. He recently stepped down from his role to lead Reliable Energy Inc., an organization that advocates for fossil fuels and nuclear energy.
Both Woods and Ford have ties to conservative political organizations, indicating a clear direction for Indiana’s energy and environmental policies.
