The W1 is designed to navigate various terrains like grass and gravel. It weighs 44 pounds but can carry up to 110 pounds. It uses advanced tech, including lidar and RGB cameras, to move around. However, its abilities are somewhat basic: it can transport items, follow people, host games, and take pictures with a 13-megapixel camera. On the other hand, the M1 is a smaller humanoid robot that measures 15 inches. Designed for companionship, it uses Google’s Gemini AI for conversation and offers features like reminders and fall detection. It can operate on the floor or on a desk and can recover if it tips over. With a battery life of about two hours, the M1 returns to its dock to recharge automatically.
Both robots, set to launch in the U.S. soon, are priced at $5,599 for the W1 and $2,899 for the M1. This trend of home robotics is growing. According to a recent report by the International Federation of Robotics, the market for service robots is expected to reach $37 billion by 2026.
