Tim Homan joined the Drexel softball team as an assistant coach in August 2025. Before this role, he spent a year at Rowan University, where he played a key part in leading the team to an impressive 49-4 record, one of the best in Division III. Under his guidance, Rowan won the NJAC Conference Tournament and claimed the regional championship.
Prior to his time at Rowan, Homan spent three seasons at Boston College, helping the Eagles achieve their best record in eight years at 30-22. His coaching here also led to significant player successes, including two All-ACC selections and the program’s first postseason victory in the ACC’s format.
In 2019, Homan stepped in as the first assistant coach at Dartmouth. His contributions were notable: he helped develop the 2022 Ivy League Player of the Year and supported seven players who made the All-Ivy League Teams.
Homan’s coaching journey began at Villanova in 2016. He also had stints at Penn and Georgia Southern. His academic background includes a bachelor’s degree in exercise science from Palm Beach Atlantic University and a master’s in sports management from Southern New Hampshire University.
In recent years, the landscape of college softball has evolved significantly. According to the NCAA, participation in women’s sports, including softball, has seen steady growth, with numbers climbing 13% over the last decade. This surge reflects a broader societal trend toward supporting women’s athletics.
