Meghan McCain recently shared her thoughts on Meghan Markle during the launch of her online series, “Happy Hour.” She specifically criticized Markle’s new lifestyle brand, As Ever.

McCain expressed frustration with the Duchess of Sussex, saying, “She apparently never listens to anyone living in reality.” Discussing Markle’s previous business name and branding struggles, she called the original name, American Riviera Orchard, “terrible.”

After watching an Instagram video where Markle introduced her brand, McCain revealed her dislike for the former actress. “I love people I can relate to, like every other 40-year-old mom,” she said. “I don’t want to eat her jam.” McCain expressed admiration for Kate Middleton instead, highlighting her relatable qualities.

Meghan Markle has faced challenges with her brand, including trademark issues and accusations regarding the logo of As Ever. A small town in Spain claimed her logo resembled its traditional coat of arms, while another NYC clothing brand raised concerns about the name.

McCain spoke candidly about her changing opinions on Markle and Prince Harry. She used to like Markle but now finds them “boring” and feels they lack transparency. She also showed support for Princess Kate, especially after her recent battle with cancer, saying she has become “team Princess Kate forever.”

In a previous critique, McCain labeled the trailer for Markle’s Netflix series as “tone-deaf,” arguing that Markle’s lifestyle seems out of touch with everyday Americans who struggle with rising costs. “We are a country in rage, uncertainty, and intensity right now,” McCain pointed out, suggesting that Markle’s brand does not resonate with those realities.
