Men’s Free Health Screenings: Join Us at Ford Field in Detroit on September 20!

Ford Field in Detroit will host free health screenings for men aged 18 and older. No health insurance is required to participate. This event, organized by the Michigan Men’s Health Foundation, will take place on September 20 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Dr. Michael Lutz, the foundation’s president, highlights that many men delay seeking medical care. “This event offers a chance to talk to medical experts about health concerns in a relaxed setting,” he said. Services available include vital screenings, blood tests, vaccinations, HIV testing, dental checks, vision and skin cancer screenings, foot assessments, and mental health evaluations.

The foundation collaborates with Corewell Health, Henry Ford Health, Wayne Health, and Wren Laboratories to provide these services. This partnership allows for comprehensive screenings that emphasize both physical and mental health.

Recent studies underscore the importance of preventive care. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), regular health check-ups can significantly improve health outcomes. Unfortunately, many men still avoid routine visits, often leading to late diagnoses of serious conditions.

This initiative aims to break down barriers and encourage men to take charge of their health. It’s a great opportunity to get valuable screenings and ask medical professionals questions in an informal atmosphere.
