Upper Macungie Township Community Center Takes Shape
Exciting things are happening in Upper Macungie Township as the new Community Lifestyle Center rises up. Recently, a significant milestone was marked with a ceremonial timber placement. This isn’t just any building—it’s aimed to be the heart of the community.
Jeff Fleischaker, the chairman of the township board, described the center as “the crown jewel” of the area. The center, costing $47 million and spanning 188,000 square feet, will feature a range of facilities. Notably, StructureCraft is involved in crafting the facility with a focus on sustainability. Their timber framework not only cuts down the carbon footprint but also provides a warm, inviting atmosphere.
Light wood framing started in September, and the project is set to open in the summer of 2026. With ongoing construction, the project managers expect to finish the main structure soon, with the final timber beam anticipated to be placed by mid-December.
