Last year, the former assistant police chief also resigned.

Recent reports have revealed troubling connections between current and former police chiefs and a firm called Solaren Risk Management. There are allegations that this company allowed unqualified individuals to wear police identification, raising serious questions about the legitimacy of the department’s practices.
In his resignation letter, Morris addressed the challenges he faced while trying to lead the department. He mentioned the lack of support from the Board and stated that promises made to him regarding job security were not honored. Morris felt micromanaged and believed this interference hindered his ability to effectively run the department.
