Millie Bobby Brown recently addressed her relationship with David Harbour amid rumors of on-set bullying claims. These reports suggested that Brown, 21, filed a harassment complaint against her 50-year-old co-star before filming the final season of Stranger Things.
Despite the controversy, Brown and Harbour were all smiles together at the season five premiere in Los Angeles on November 6. When asked about presenting a united front, Brown stated, “We’ve always been united. We love this show and value our friendship above all.”
The claims emerged from a report by The Daily Mail, which indicated that Brown had logged pages of allegations against Harbour. However, details were vague, and there were no claims of sexual misconduct. Reportedly, Netflix conducted an internal investigation that lasted several months, during which Brown had a personal representative on set.
Netflix has not commented on the allegations. In the early episodes of season five, fans can look forward to seeing more dynamic moments between Brown’s character, Eleven, and Harbour’s Hopper, especially after their long separation in the previous season.
Brown expressed excitement about reuniting on screen, mentioning that the atmosphere felt “nostalgic.” She reflected on the familiar dynamic of their characters, with Eleven growing and Hopper stepping into a parental role again.
Stranger Things creators, the Duffer Brothers, were also approached about the allegations at the premiere. Ross Duffer emphasized the strong bond they’ve developed with their cast over the years, implying that a safe environment is paramount to the show’s success. Director Shawn Levy echoed this sentiment, noting the importance of respect on set while insisting that the media narrative around the story has varied in accuracy.
As the family-oriented series continues, viewers can expect more captivating scenes from Eleven and Hopper. Volume 1 of season five is now streaming on Netflix, with Volume 2 scheduled to release on December 25, and the series finale on December 31, which will also be shown in theaters.
