Miraculous Comeback: How a Country Music Star Overcame Near-Death Experience in 2024

Colt Ford’s journey back to health after a heart attack last April is truly inspiring. The country singer faced a tough battle when he collapsed after a performance in Arizona. His heart stopped twice that night before doctors managed to stabilize him.

Since then, Ford has made incredible strides in his recovery. He announced that he plans to hit the road again, ready to resume touring. Not only did he recover from the heart attack, but he also committed to a complete health overhaul, which he discussed in a recent interview with PEOPLE Magazine.

“I’ve dropped from a size 44 to a size 32,” he shared. “I see it as a blessing. I want to be healthier than ever.” Ford, who used to indulge in fried chicken and Mountain Dew, weighed as much as 340 pounds at his highest. Now, he’s down to 190 pounds thanks to his new diet.

“I was a terrible eater,” he admitted. Before the heart attack, he was already working on his health, having lost weight from 340 to 250 pounds after being diagnosed with myasthenia gravis in 2022. His doctor was astonished he survived the heart attack, stating, “I have no idea how you made it.”

In his interview, Ford explained how he has changed his eating habits. He now opts for grilled chicken sandwiches instead of greasy burgers and skips the fries. “I don’t even crave the fast food I used to love,” he said.

Ford shared more about his surprising medical experience during a call to the Big D and Bubba radio show. Just after he texted his fiancée, he collapsed. Fortunately, his band came looking for him and quickly got him the help he needed. They even ensured he was transferred to a hospital with the right equipment to treat his condition.

Sadly, he died during the transport but was brought back to life. “The Lord had more for me to do,” he reflected. Doctors told him his chances of surviving the incident were extremely low, with one giving him just a 0.1 percent chance.

Ford, known for collaborations with Toby Keith and Jason Aldean, has faced other health challenges as well, including a battle with eye cancer three years ago. His real name is Jason Farris Brown, and he transitioned from professional golf to music, releasing eight studio albums since 2008.

Now, after his life-changing experiences, Ford is more motivated than ever. He’s ready to reconnect with fans and embrace a healthier lifestyle.
