The Washington Nationals made significant roster moves recently, optioning left-handed pitchers Shinnosuke Ogasawara and DJ Herz to Triple-A Rochester. In his last NPB season, he had a 3.12 ERA, though his strikeout rate was modest. Meanwhile, Herz, who debuted in the big leagues last season, struck out nearly 28% of the batters he faced, with a decent 4.16 ERA in 19 starts. However, his consistency in throwing strikes has been a concern.
