MK Stalin Provides Health Update on AR Rahman: ‘I Just Spoke to the Doctors’

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin recently shared an update on the health of acclaimed music composer AR Rahman. After rumors of Rahman’s hospitalization circulated, Stalin took to Instagram to reassure fans.

Rahman, the Oscar-winning musician, was admitted to a hospital in Chennai due to dehydration and neck pain resulting from travel, according to his team. Fortunately, all medical tests returned normal, indicating that he is recovering well. His son, Udhay Stalin, also expressed his wishes for Rahman’s speedy recovery.

There were misleading reports claiming that Rahman was hospitalized due to chest pain, which his team quickly denied. They emphasized the truth: Rahman’s hospital visit was solely for dehydration and neck discomfort.

Currently, Rahman is busy with several music projects, including a collaboration with Ed Sheeran during his concert in Chennai a month ago. He is also set to compose music for the upcoming film “Tere Ishk Mein,” a spiritual sequel to the hit movie “Raanjhanna,” directed by Anand L. Rai.

In addition to his professional endeavors, recent personal events have surrounded Rahman. His ex-wife, Saira Banu, underwent surgery following a medical emergency. The couple announced their separation in November 2024 after nearly three decades together.

As Rahman continues to heal and focus on his upcoming projects, fans remain hopeful for his quick return to health and music.
