Montana State Bobcat Women Shine at UAF Invite: A Guide to their Nordic Squad Excellence

Montana State’s Katey Houser and Anna Pryce had impressive finishes on the last day of the University of Alaska Fairbanks Invitational. They placed fourth and fifth in the Nordic freestyle event, which took place on the UAF campus.

Houser completed the challenging 10K course in 25:27.4, while Pryce finished in 27:17.9. Rosie Whittington Evans helped the team by finishing 21st in 28:54.2. Together, these three athletes contributed 74 points, which ranked third among women’s teams, just behind UAF and Utah.

Kendall Kramer from UAF took home the win with a time of 25:27.4.

Montana State also saw strong performances from Morgan Richter, who finished 24th in 29:39.7, Delaney Jackson in 25th at 29:40.8, and Maeve MacLead, who came in 27th with a time of 30:24.4.

For the men, Grey Barbier led Montana State, finishing 23rd with a time of 25:22.3. He was followed by Phineas Fischer in 29th (25:37.9) and Joel Power in 30th (25:38.9).

In the overall team results, Denver won the UAF Invitational with 345 points, followed by Utah with 307 points, UAF with 291.5 points, and Colorado with the same score. Alaska Anchorage scored 250.5 points, while Montana State totaled 232 points.

The Bobcats will stay in Alaska for more competitions. The alpine team will participate in the UAA Invitational, featuring giant slalom on Wednesday and slalom on Friday. Both the alpine and Nordic teams are gearing up for the RMISA Championships from February 20 to 22 in Anchorage.
