Montana State Golf Welcomes Tulsa Transfer Norah Seidl: A New Star in the Making!

Montana State University’s golf team is buzzing with excitement after welcoming Norah Seidl, a transfer from Tulsa. Head coach Brittany Basye announced her signing, and it’s a big move for the Bobcats.

Norah will join as a junior in the 2025-26 season. She’s had quite the journey, spending two years with the Golden Hurricanes, where she was part of the team that clinched the 2025 American Athletic Conference title. Over her time at Tulsa, she showcased her skills in ten tournaments and participated in two NCAA Regionals, even making it to the NCAA Championship in 2024.

Basye is thrilled about Norah. “She’s the type of player we want,” she said. “Her experience at Tulsa taught her what it takes to win. Her golf skills and Division I background are exactly what we need.”

In her sophomore year, Norah played four tournaments and maintained a scoring average of 79.4. Her best outing was a round of 73 at the Dale McNamara Invitational. As a freshman, she participated in six tournaments, averaging 77.2 strokes over 18 rounds and impressively averaging 74.8 in the fall.

Before heading to the U.S., Norah made a name for herself in Austria. She won the 2022 Slovenian Amateur and had a strong finish at the 2022 Austrian Women’s PGA Championship.

Basye highlighted that Norah values her education and is eager to be a part of a winning culture, a sentiment echoed by many athletes seeking academic and athletic success in college sports. The Bobcats had a remarkable season last year, setting records for scoring averages and individual tournament wins. They also celebrated their first-ever appearance in the NCAA postseason.

Looking ahead, Montana State is returning three key players: All-Big Sky selection Lauren Greeny, Big Sky Champion Maddie Montoya, and rising junior Eva Heinz. Fresh blood is also joining the team with four incoming freshmen: Peyton DeBruin, Lauren Nau, Sailor Graham, and Ashleigh Wilson.

As the team gears up for the upcoming season, Norah’s addition could be the spark they need to continue their impressive run. Fans and players alike are excited to see what’s next for the Bobcat Golf Family!
