Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has included an electric vehicle (EV) in his official convoy, becoming the first Chief Minister in India to do so. This move is part of a broader initiative to promote sustainable mobility and environmental conservation.
The newly added vehicle is a Mahindra XEV 9e, which has a driving range of approximately 500 kilometers on a single charge. CM Yadav utilized the EV for travel from the Chief Minister’s residence to the State Hangar in Bhopal, marking its first official use.
The electric vehicle features the registration number MP-02-VB-2047. The “VB” signifies Viksit Bharat (Developed India), while “2047” represents the goal of transforming India into a developed nation by the centenary of Independence.
The Mahindra XEV 9e is equipped with advanced technology, including a 360-degree camera system, driver-assistance technologies, and enhanced safety and connectivity features. Drivers received special training prior to the vehicle’s induction into the convoy.
Chief Minister Yadav has reiterated his commitment to environmental protection and renewable energy. The state government has implemented various initiatives focused on wildlife conservation, green development, renewable energy expansion, and sustainable infrastructure.
