This was Pettit’s fourth journey into space, marking over 18 months of his life spent in orbit throughout his 29-year career. The trio touched down in a remote area southeast of Dzhezkazgan at 6:20 AM local time. NASA’s images captured the capsule descending against a beautiful sunrise, and the astronauts were seen giving thumbs-up signals as they were assisted from the landing site to an inflatable medical tent.
