Nashville, Tenn. (March 8, 2025) – The Nashville Predators Foundation has teamed up with Second Harvest Food Bank again, donating $25,000 for its annual Spread the Love campaign. Every February, Second Harvest invites the community to donate jars of peanut butter, nut butter, jellies, and other spreads. These items help fill the shelves of local food pantries.
“Second Harvest Food Bank is a vital partner for the Preds Foundation and for our community,” said Rebecca King, Vice President of Community Relations for the Nashville Predators. “We’re honored to support them.”
Spreadable foods, especially nut butters, are essential because they are nutritious, have a long shelf life, and are widely liked. With the donations collected, Second Harvest will stock more than 600 partner agencies and provide jars in their Emergency Food Boxes.
This year’s efforts helped raise enough food for 210,220 meals, thanks to the sponsorship from the Nashville Predators, food drives, and a corporate competition during Spread the Love. Additionally, the Nashville Predators staff contributed by running a drive that collected 524 pounds of peanut butter to help fight hunger in the region.
The Predators Foundation made this donation possible through funds raised with Compassion International’s Fill the Arena campaign.
