The official cause of Ace Frehley’s death has been revealed. The medical examiner from Morris County, New Jersey, stated that the guitarist, who co-founded the legendary rock band Kiss, died from blunt force injuries to his head after a fall. His death, ruled an accident, resulted in a brain bleed and skull fractures.
Frehley passed away on October 16, at the age of 74. His family shared a heartfelt statement, expressing gratitude for the time they had with him. They emphasized the love and peaceful words exchanged in his final moments, underscoring the profound impact of his life and talents.
Just weeks prior, he canceled his remaining 2025 performances due to ongoing health issues. He had also faced a minor fall in September, which led to a brief hospitalization. Doctors advised him to rest, prompting him to bow out of his scheduled appearances.
Frehley, famously known as “Spaceman,” was a crucial part of Kiss from its formation in 1973 until he left in 1982. During his time with the band, he helped shape their iconic sound, contributing to hit songs like “Detroit Rock City” and “I Was Made for Lovin’ You.” Though he left the band, he returned for a reunion tour from 1996 to 2002.
