Google, the New York Jobs CEO Council and Urban Assembly hosted an AI summit for 150 education and industry leaders to focus on how students can be prepared for future careers.
The event brought together educators and employers to share knowledge about workforce needs and classroom technology. Hands-on sessions included aiEDU’s “Vibe Coding” and Google’s “Meet LEA,” with educators exploring how tools like Google AI mode and NotebookLM can be used to spark curiosity and build AI literacy.
A key theme at the summit was that AI’s main value lies in the problem-solving it enables. Industry leaders said that as technology streamlines workflows, “human skills” — like adaptability, collaboration, and critical judgment — become essential.
Participants also said privacy and equitable access must remain priorities as AI is used in education. The group’s takeaway was that technological innovation must happen with schools, not around them.
