A beloved fast-food chain from the 80s and 90s is returning to the scene. Hot ‘n Now, known for its tasty, quick, and affordable burgers, is generating buzz even among those in New York, where it never had a location.
Hot ‘n Now first opened its doors in 1984 in Kalamazoo, Michigan. During its peak in the late 80s and early 90s, the drive-thru concept took off, attracting fans far and wide. One reader even shared a story about driving over seven hours just to enjoy a burger from the chain!
At its height, Hot ‘n Now had more than 150 locations across 15 states, with burgers priced as low as 39 cents. However, after several changes in ownership, the company faced bankruptcy in 2004, leaving only one location in Sturgis, Michigan, which has been serving customers since 1990.
Now, there’s exciting news. A new group of owners, Gun Lakes Investments, is joining forces with developer Jeff Konczak to revive Hot ‘n Now. This team plans to open at least two new restaurants in Michigan later this year, with more locations expected in the future.
Fans of fast food are hopeful that Hot ‘n Now’s comeback will bring back the nostalgia of affordable and quick meals. It seems that many are eager to relive the experience of enjoying those iconic burgers and fries once again.
