The Philadelphia Eagles’ quarterback Jalen Hurts is ready to go for Sunday’s NFC Championship game against the Washington Commanders. He reported no injuries in Friday’s update and feels his left knee is improving.
Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni praised Hurts’ performance in practice, noting he will likely wear a knee brace during the game. Hurts has had a tough season, battling a concussion that sidelined him for the last two games of the regular season, along with a knee injury from last week’s win over the Los Angeles Rams. However, he has experience playing through pain, as he’s dealt with ankle, shoulder, and finger injuries in the past.
“It’s part of the game,” Hurts stated. “I’ve committed to doing whatever it takes to win. You just have to make the adjustments to play your best.”
On the other side, the Washington Commanders have some injury concerns. Veteran defensive tackle Daron Payne didn’t practice this week due to knee and finger issues and is listed as questionable. However, linebacker Bobby Wagner, who has been nursing an ankle injury, is expected to play as he wasn’t on the injury report. Unfortunately, right guard Sam Cosmi will be unavailable after tearing his ACL.
The Buffalo Bills are also dealing with injuries. Safety Taylor Rapp is out with a hip injury he sustained in the previous game against the Baltimore Ravens. Cornerback Christian Benford is still in concussion protocol, while linebacker Matt Milano, who was limited earlier this week due to hamstring soreness, has returned to full practice.
Here’s a quick look at the injury statuses for the upcoming conference championship games:

- G Sam Cosmi (knee): out
- QB Jeff Driskel (illness): questionable
- DE Javontae Jean-Baptiste (shoulder): questionable
- DT Daron Payne (knee, finger): questionable
