“‘No Mercy’ for Drug Traffickers: Amit Shah Applauds NCB’s Historic Rs 88 Crore Drug Bust in Assam; Four Arrested”

Union Home Minister Amit Shah recently announced the arrest of four people linked to an international drug cartel. This follows the seizure of a massive shipment of methamphetamine tablets valued at Rs 88 crore in Assam. He praised the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) for their swift action.

On March 13, NCB officers intercepted a truck near Lilong and discovered 102.39 kg of meth hidden in a toolbox. Two people in the truck were arrested, and the operation led to the capture of a suspected receiver as well.

In a separate operation on the same day, NCB officials in Guwahati seized 7.48 kg of meth hidden in the spare tire of a vehicle. The occupant was also arrested. Investigators believe the drugs came from Moreh, a town in Manipur known as a hub for drug trafficking. Officials are looking into more leads to apprehend additional suspects.

Shah emphasized that this drug seizure reflects the government’s tough stance against drug trafficking. “No mercy for drug cartels,” he stated, reassuring the public that the fight against drugs in India is intensifying.

Recent statistics show that India is facing a growing drug crisis. According to the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, methamphetamine use in Southeast Asia has surged, contributing to a rising tide of trafficking. The northeastern states of India are particularly vulnerable due to their proximity to drug-producing countries like Myanmar.

Experts stress that addressing this issue requires not just enforcement but also community support and rehabilitation for users. As the NCB continues its operations, local communities are encouraged to stay vigilant and assist in these efforts.

The drug trade impacts many lives, making it crucial for society to unite against this ongoing fight. In recent months, social media discussions have increased around the dangers of drug abuse, highlighting the need for effective prevention and support systems.

As the Modi government focuses on creating a drug-free India, it’s clear that sustained efforts and community involvement are essential in tackling this complex problem.
