Bangladesh Ruckus: A Bangladesh court on Wednesday (December 11, 2024) rejected a petition searching for early hearing of the bail plea of arrested Hindu saint Chinmoy Krishna Das. Chittagong Metropolitan Sessions Judge Saiful Islam rejected the petition because the lawyer didn’t have energy of lawyer on behalf of Das.
According to the report of stories company PTI, a court official mentioned, “Lawyer Ravindra Ghosh sought advance hearing after another lawyer told the judge that he (Ghosh) had no power of attorney to represent the sadhu.” There is no lawyer. After this the choose rejected the petition.”
‘Chinmoy Das was implicated in a false case’
In his petition, Goshe alleged that Das was arrested in a “false and fabricated case” though he’s affected by diabetes, bronchial asthma and different issues. However, the lawyer admitted that he had not gone to jail to get the signed energy of lawyer from Das. He mentioned, “I will now meet Chinmay in jail and take the Vakalatnama (power of attorney).”
This hearing was to be held on December 3, however on the suggestion of the prosecution, the court postponed its date to January 2, 2025, as a result of no lawyer was current on behalf of the prosecution.
Chinmoy Das arrested on treason expenses
On 25 November, Chinmoy Krishna Das was arrested at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka. The subsequent day, a Chittagong court despatched him to jail, rejecting his bail plea as he was charged with treason for allegedly insulting the nation’s flag. Protests broke out after his arrest, together with his followers demonstrating in Dhaka and different locations, whereas protests turned violent in Chittagong, the place a lawyer was killed.
