In Nesher, a town near Haifa, an Iranian missile struck an apartment building on Monday night. The top floor greatly suffered, with a large hole blasted through the wall. Fortunately, the apartment’s resident had gone to the bomb shelter just in time, avoiding any injury.
Debris from the missile rained down in multiple locations. Apart from the apartment damage, several parked cars also faced destruction. Nadav Katan, the owner of the impacted apartment, described the moment. “I was at home, heard the alarm, and then a huge boom,” he recounted. He rushed to the shelter with some urgency, understanding the gravity of the situation. Miraculously, he feels that his decision to seek safety saved his life. An Israeli Defense Forces officer confirmed this sentiment, stating, “If you hadn’t gone down, we would probably be talking somewhere else.”
The missile appeared to explode upon hitting the building’s ceiling, but it did not detonate outside. A crucial protective space in the shelter shielded Katan from the disaster.
This incident isn’t isolated. Just hours later, another Iranian missile was fired at southern and central Israel, although no injuries or damage were reported.
