Nvidia has officially retired its long-standing Control Panel app after more than 20 years. This change comes as the company rolls out its updated Nvidia app, which has taken on most of the Control Panel’s functions.
All key features for GeForce users have been moved to the new app. Nvidia noted, “With our latest Nvidia app update, we’ve modernized and transitioned all actively supported Control Panel features.” They clarified that while the classic Control Panel is no longer receiving updates for Game Ready and Studio Drivers, RTX PRO users can still access it until professional features are migrated.
For users, the Control Panel will remain on their PCs unless a clean driver install is performed. If you still need it, you can find it in the Microsoft Store, but expect no new features or fixes.
The Nvidia app offers a one-stop solution for downloading and installing drivers, managing game settings, and switching between different DLSS modes. This shift is part of a broader trend in the tech world toward streamlining applications and enhancing user experience.
