John Gonzalez, known for his role as the lead writer on Fallout: New Vegas, has returned to Obsidian Entertainment after 13 years. He also worked as a Narrative Director on popular games like Horizon Zero Dawn and Horizon Forbidden West. Recently, Gonzalez updated his LinkedIn profile, making it clear that his comeback isn’t for a new Fallout game: “Back to Obsidian for exciting times! (No, it’s not FNV2.)”

Gonzalez has an impressive background. He has worked on major titles, including Tom Clancy’s EndWar, and served as Lead Narrative Designer on Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor. His experience makes him a valuable addition to the team.
Currently, Obsidian is busy with several exciting projects. These include The Outer Worlds and its sequel, Pentiment, Grounded, and Avowed, which is set to come out on February 18. In addition to his work at Obsidian, Gonzalez is also writing a novel titled God Mode: Single Player, which he hopes to release later this year.
