Oklahoma City Welcomes the Exciting WBSC U-18 Women’s Softball World Cup Finals: Don’t Miss Opening Day on September 27!

Great news for softball fans! Oklahoma City will host the WBSC U-18 Women’s Softball World Cup Finals. This exciting tournament takes place at Devon Park from September 27 to October 2.

Originally set for Dallas, TX, the Finals moved to Oklahoma City. This venue is the largest dedicated softball facility and will also be the proposed site for the softball events during the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.

Devon Park is no stranger to big events. It has been the stage for major competitions like the WBSC Men’s Softball World Cup and the NCAA Women’s College World Series. The park has recently been updated to welcome large crowds. Upgrades include an upper deck that adds 4,000 new seats, a three-story press box, and improved ticket windows.

This year marks the first time the WBSC U-18 Women’s Softball World Cup is using a new two-stage format. Last year, pools were held in Sao Paulo, Brazil, Pingtan, China, and Dallas, USA. In total, eight teams will compete in the finals.

The teams moving on are World No. 4 Chinese Taipei and No. 8 Czechia from Group A; No. 2 Japan and No. 12 China from Group B; and No. 1 USA and No. 6 Canada from Group C. Additionally, No. 3 Puerto Rico and No. 9 Mexico received wild cards as the best third-place finishers.

The tournament will kick off with an Opening Round on September 27 and 28. The top two teams from each group will then compete in the Super Round on September 29 and 30. The championship match is set for October 1, with October 2 reserved for weather delays.
