Stillwater, Oklahoma – Oklahoma State has welcomed a new player to its basketball team. Kashie Natt, a guard from Rayville, Louisiana, joins after a stellar season at Sam Houston.
Natt, standing at 6-foot-3, was named the Conference USA Defensive Player of the Year last season. He also shone at LSU-Alexandria, where he earned the 2025 NAIA National Player of the Year title.
Head coach Steve Lutz is excited about Natt’s potential. “Kashie is an elite competitor,” he says. “His defensive skills are exceptional. He’s quick, athletic, and knows how to read the game. He fits perfectly with our style.”
Last season, Natt played all 34 games for Sam Houston, averaging 10.8 points and 8.2 rebounds. He led Conference USA in steals, defensive rebounds, and double-doubles, securing nine in total. His strong performance helped his team achieve 22 victories and a spot in the NIT.
Fans were impressed with Natt’s rebounding ability, with 14 games featuring double-digit rebounds. During March, he even had two games with 16 rebounds each. He also excelled in defense, achieving impressive stats in several games.
Natt was able to perform well against top-tier teams, including a double-double of 16 points and 11 rebounds against No. 10 Texas Tech. He also had solid numbers in a December game at Oklahoma State’s Gallagher-Iba Arena.
Before Sam Houston, Natt was a standout at LSU-Alexandria, leading his team to a fantastic season with a 31-3 record. He averaged 19.9 points and 10.1 rebounds during his final year, becoming the university’s all-time leading scorer and rebounder.
Natt started his journey in junior college at Southern University-Shreveport, quickly earning first-team all-conference honors. He graduated from Rayville High School in 2021, leading his team to four consecutive state championships and earning accolades as both a basketball player and wide receiver.
Looking ahead, Natt is listed as a top-100 prospect on ESPN’s 2026 NBA Draft board. He intends to explore the draft evaluation process while keeping his college eligibility intact.
