Olivia Munn Opens Up About ‘Traumatic’ Onset Experience: Why She Refused to Sign an NDA and Stood Her Ground

Olivia Munn is opening up about a troubling experience from a movie set, although she hasn’t named the film. Years later, she reflects on an incident that left her feeling unsettled.

On Monica Lewinsky’s podcast, Reclaiming, Munn described the experience as “really not okay.” She explained that it was so distressing that she felt compelled to file complaints with the studio. At one point, she was offered a substantial amount of money—seven figures—to agree to a settlement. However, this came with a non-disclosure agreement (NDA).

Munn shared, “I didn’t want to end up talking about it because I just wanted to move on. But I refused to sign the NDA. They insisted I should, but I knew that felt wrong. This was during the time when #MeToo and Time’s Up were gaining momentum, and I worried about how signing might affect the credibility of my voice.”

In late 2017, during the peak of the #MeToo movement, Munn was one of six women who accused filmmaker Brett Ratner of sexual misconduct related to her experience on the set of his 2004 film, After the Sunset.
