Omspace Secures $3 Million Funding to Create India’s First Indigenous Satellite Launch Vehicle

Ahmedabad’s Omspace Rocket & Exploration Pvt. Ltd. has made waves recently by securing $3 million in pre-seed funding. This investment, led by a notable Family Office and an Angel Investor, will help propel their flagship project, Infinity One. This modular launch vehicle is designed to send small satellites into Low Earth Orbit (LEO).

Founded in 2020 by Dr. Ravindra Mistri, Maulik Mota, and Stutika Padamshali, Omspace aims to change India’s space-tech landscape. They focus on creating cost-effective and reliable solutions for launching small satellites, capable of carrying payloads up to 350 kg and reaching altitudes of 800 km.

The funds will be used for several key areas:

• Final testing of the Infinity One prototype.
• Expanding their research and development team.
• Enhancing manufacturing processes and support systems.

The goal is to prepare for their first commercial launch, anticipated by January 2028.

Omspace’s journey is supported by CrAdLE, a government-backed incubator that provides essential mentorship and resources. Dr. Mistri expressed gratitude for the backing, emphasizing their mission to make space accessible from India. Dr. Satya Ranjan Acharya, Director of CrAdLE, highlighted the importance of supporting ventures like Omspace to position India as a leader in space innovation.
