Jaipur: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh recently hailed ‘Operation Sindoor’ as a key example of India’s growing military strength. At the second Joint Commanders’ Conference in Jaipur, he emphasized that the operation showcases the armed forces’ readiness to respond quickly and effectively to threats.
Singh described Operation Sindoor as a “short-duration, deep-penetration, high-intensity operation.” He pointed out that it demonstrates India’s power to compel adversaries to retreat, highlighting how well the Army, Navy, and Air Force can work together. “It is a testament to the joint response of our Defence Forces,” he said.
The conference focused on “Military Capability in New Domains,” bringing together top leaders from the Ministry of Defence and senior military commanders. They discussed evolving security threats, future warfare, and how to integrate military strategies. Singh noted that future conflicts are likely to involve hybrid warfare, cyber operations, and multidomain engagements that include cyber, space, and psychological tactics.
To prepare for these challenges, Singh emphasized the importance of advancing technologies like artificial intelligence, autonomous systems, and secure communication networks. “Future wars will require innovative thinking,” he stated, stressing that success would depend less on traditional weaponry and more on strategic collaboration.
He also urged commanders to embrace unpredictability in their strategies, saying, “We must remain aware of our enemy’s tactics and always stay two steps ahead.” Singh noted the government’s commitment to modernizing the armed forces through advanced technology and research initiatives.
During the conference, a documentary on Operation Sindoor was released, showcasing India’s operational readiness. Singh also unveiled ‘Vision 2047’ and the ‘Joint Doctrine for Integrated Communication Architecture.’ These initiatives aim to improve communication and coordination among the military branches for future multidomain operations. Discussions included cyber resilience, AI in warfare, and indigenous defense innovation.
Recent studies suggest a growing trend toward investing in military technologies. A report from the 2022 Global Military Balance highlighted an increase in defense spending worldwide, particularly in areas like cybersecurity and AI, indicating a shift in how nations prepare for conflicts.
As the world faces new security challenges, India’s approach, including community involvement and readiness, reflects a significant evolution in military strategy.
