Orlando Bloom recently discussed his breakup with Katy Perry during an appearance on the Today show. While promoting his new boxing film, The Cut, he shared how he feels about their split after nearly a decade together.
“I’m doing great,” Bloom expressed. “I’m thankful for everything. We have a beautiful daughter. It’s all love. We’re going to be okay.”
Bloom first met Perry at a Golden Globes afterparty in 2016, and they started dating soon after. Their relationship had its ups and downs, including a breakup, but they got back together. In 2019, Bloom proposed on Valentine’s Day. Though their wedding plans were delayed by the pandemic, they welcomed their daughter, Daisy Dove, in August 2020.
In another twist, Miranda Kerr, Bloom’s ex-wife, recently spoke about their blended family. She mentioned how they celebrated Daisy’s birthday together. Kerr, who shares a 14-year-old son with Bloom, said, “Katy is amazing. I love her, and Orlando too.”
Katy Perry seems to feel similarly about their co-parenting arrangement. At the G’Day USA Arts Gala in 2023, she expressed her gratitude for her “modern blended family” with Kerr. “It feels like I gained another sister,” she said.
Following their breakup in July 2023, representatives for Bloom and Perry confirmed they were focusing on co-parenting. “Their priority remains raising their daughter with love and respect,” the statement said.
This blend of families shows how relationships can evolve. Maintaining a positive environment for their daughter is a priority for both Bloom and Perry, and it’s heartening to see them handle their situation with maturity and kindness.
