New Orleans – The Tulane men’s basketball team faced a tough challenge against New Orleans, losing 63-85. The game took place at the Avron B. Fogelman Arena, and Tulane struggled to find their shooting rhythm, hitting only 34.6% from the field and just 11.1% from three-point range.
Despite the shooting woes, Tulane managed to win at the free-throw line, making 24 out of 34 attempts. Rowan Brumbaugh led the team with 18 points, marking his 34th consecutive game in double digits. Curtis Williams Jr. also contributed, scoring 10 points and grabbing three steals.
On the other side, Coleton Benson from New Orleans had a standout performance, scoring 33 points and making eight three-pointers. His effort helped UNO achieve a strong shooting night, hitting 54.2% from the field.
Tulane started on the back foot, with UNO quickly establishing a 12-2 lead. At one point, the Green Wave trailed by 15 points in the first half. Though they managed to close the gap to eight, a last-second three-pointer from Benson left Tulane down 31-42 at halftime.
In the second half, Tulane fought hard to narrow the gap, bringing it to 45-50 with a layup from Josiah Moore. However, they couldn’t maintain the momentum, and the Privateers gradually pulled away, sealing the 85-63 victory.
Looking ahead, Tulane will travel to Charleston, South Carolina, for the Shriners Children’s Charleston Classic on November 21-23, starting with a game against Utah State.
