Packers Eye Micah Parsons: What This Could Mean for Their Season

Nearly four weeks ago, Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons hinted he wanted a trade. The next day, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones brushed it off as just part of negotiations.

However, the Green Bay Packers are reportedly interested. A Twitter account known as “RickeyScoops” suggested the Packers might want Parsons. After checking around, it seems the Packers are keen, but their interest isn’t as strong as the rumors suggest.

For now, none of this matters unless the Cowboys decide to trade him. Jones hasn’t hinted at being open to a deal at all. After all, it wouldn’t make sense for the Cowboys to trade their star linebacker now if they believe he could fetch two first-round draft picks later. Future picks won’t have much value if traded in 2025.

If the deal included a player the Cowboys really want, they might reconsider. Simply trading for draft picks doesn’t offer immediate help.

This situation is all about power dynamics in the league. Owners have been cautious since the Browns gave quarterback Deshaun Watson a fully guaranteed contract. If Parsons were traded, the Cowboys would likely look for a partner outside the NFC.

Interestingly, if Parsons ended up in Green Bay, it would make the upcoming Cowboys-Packers game much more intriguing. As a fan, I can’t help but hope for that trade.

According to a recent survey by Sports Insider, nearly 60% of fans believe star players should have more say in trades and contracts. This reflects a larger trend throughout professional sports: fans want to see their teams making bold moves. As the trade talks unfold, it’s clear that all eyes will be on Parsons and how the Cowboys choose to navigate this situation.
